Quilt Kit Request:

Before requesting a kit, have you checked to see if there is a local chapter in your area?  When you work with your local chapter, the quilts that you make stay within your community.  The quilts made from kits requested here must be sent back to headquarters to be distributed nationwide.

Please be patient and allow two weeks for the delivery of your kit.  We are working hard to keep up with your requests. 

There is no charge for the kit or the shipping.  Your cost to ship the completed quilt back is part of your donation to Quilts for Kids.  If you would like to make an additional tax-deductible donation, please feel free to enclose a check with your quilt, or click on our DONATE link.

Quilts must be machine pieced and machine quilted with lots of quilting (not hand-tied or hand-quilted).  Kits include the fabric for the top, the backing, the pattern and the QFK label.  You will need to provide the batting (low-loft 1/8” – 1/4” poly or cotton). 

The quilt must be returned within 4-6 weeks as there is a child waiting for your quilt.  Please only request a kit if you are able to complete it within that time frame.  We will be happy to send one to you at a later date when your schedule allows.

For every kit we send out, please include one or more quilts of your own so we can reach more of the six million hospitalized children in need of comfort.  Did you know that each quilt kit actually costs $55?  Approximately $25 goes for the purchase of fabric, $22 for shipping costs to the volunteer and then to the hospital, $5 for the labor to make the kit, and $3 for the instructions, bag and label.  So,you can see how much your stash quilts mean to us!
