Quilts Are on the Way to Haiti!
Janneke Van De Ree, of our Pennington Quilt Works First Thursday workshop, helps pack quilts for a Haitian orphanage. Quilters from the Hopewell Valley (NJ) quilt group participated in making quilts to help comfort children affected by the recent earthquake.
It’s difficult to know where to start to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, so when Theresa Orashen of Stark and Stark Law Firm, in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, mentioned a group traveling to “The Bridge of Children” (an orphanage in Haiti), who were willing to take our quilts, we jumped at the chance.
This orphanage, the home of many small children, has crumbled and much is needed in the way of food, water and medical care for these little girls. Only 25 of them survived and we want to help….a quilt will give them something to cuddle in at night until they have a roof over their heads again.
Thank you, Theresa for finding a way for Quilts For Kids to help.
